POST CAMP

August 25 – 29

9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER CAMP: (for children entering 1st – 7th grade)

This camp is designed for children who have a passion for soccer. The majority of the day is spent playing soccer, including soccer drills and working on soccer skills. This camp is not designed as an introduction to soccer or for children who are not serious soccer players. If you have questions about your child’s readiness for this program, please call Andy at the JCC. Children should wear appropriate footwear, shin guards and bring a soccer ball to camp with them daily. At the end of the camp there will be an award ceremony where each child will receive a t-shirt and a soccer ball.

DRAMA CAMP: (for children entering 2nd – 7th grade)

Led by Natalie Gmora, this program gives children the opportunity to

learn about drama and put their new skills into action by performing

in their very own production! Participants will learn the basics of drama

including the importance of imagination, vocal expression, body movement,

and circumstance in storytelling. The kids will spend time working on all

elements of a performance including building scenery, creating costumes and

rehearsals. Thursday will include a dress rehearsal, all leading up to Friday’s

big performance.

JCC SCIENCE CAMP: (for children entering 1st – 6th grade)

If you are into science, you will find interesting and exciting projects at the JCC Science Camp, led by Richard Fisher. We will explore several science topics, such as rocketry, chemistry, magnetism, environments and eco-systems. Be ready for hands-on, mindboggling fun! Whether we are exploring the wet lands behind the JCC, or launching rockets on the playground, the JCC Science Camp is sure to electrify your senses.

ART CAMP: (for children entering 2nd- 7th grade)

Local artist and designer Claire Maziarczyk will share her love of paint, paper, and books. The week will be filled with various 2-D and 3-D-projects including Turkish marbling, pop-up structures, and “snake books”.
