·         “Israel Wall” a new program at the JCC of Schenectady will offer changing displays on Israeli topics, including food, culture, agriculture, and achievements in technology and medicine. New programs related to the Israel Wall displays will be offered. The first program “Food in Israel,” will start on Wednesday, December 18, 7:00 – 8:30 PM, with an evening cooking class of favorite Israeli dishes. Participants will gather at the JCC’s kitchen where dishes will be prepared with the Israeli Emissary, or Shalich, Nico Werboff.  He is the Shalich from the Eshkol Region in Israel who works with the Jewish Federation of NENY and local JCCs and synagogues. The group will prepare the dishes together and the meal will be shared. Nico will talk about Ethnicity and the Food Culture in Israel.

 

 Reservations must be made by Thursday, December 12. Cost is $5. Your check or credit card will secure your seat at the table. The kosher menu includes shakshukah, hummus, Israeli salad, taboulie, pita, pickles, Turkish coffee, and dessert.
