Toddler Playgroup (21-36 months) Playgroup2.jpeg

The transition between home and school can be difficult for both parent and child.  The Toddler Playgroup at the SJCC is designed to be a bridge between home and the first venture into the outside world.  Our goal is to ease the child into being comfortable in his/her new surroundings while encouraging the children to bond with one another in order to develop social skills.

The program's curiculum is flexible in order to meet the needs of each child.  Free play is emphasized, particularly in the beginning of the year, as toddlers begin to become friends with both the children and the teachers.

Toddler Playgroup provides an environment where verbal skills are developed through conversations, story time and songs.  Small motor skills are developed through art activities and the use of small manupulative toys.  Also, large motor skills are developed, along with balance and coordination, through physical activities in our indoor gym and outdoor playgrounds.

Children may attend on Tuesdays & Thursdays OR Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays. Hours are from 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m., following the Niskayuna School District calendar, except for Jewish Holidays. Child must be 2 years of age by Dec. 1 of school year.
