Friendship Café Congregate Sites- COVID-19 Guidelines for Participants

 In compliance with the NYS reopening plan requirements, congregate meal sites must maintain a
50% capacity threshold for participants. Therefore, due to the limited number of participants
allowed, meal reservations must be made one week prior to attending. We cannot guarantee space,
first come first served; no admittance without a reservation.

 Participants will have their temperature checked and answer a health screening questionnaire prior
to entering the Friendship Café, each time. Participants will not be allowed entry if they have a
temperature of 100.4 or higher and/or answer yes to any of the health screening questions.

 Participants must wear a mask/face covering that fully covers their mouth and nose at all times,
which includes walking to a table or walking to the restroom. The only exception to not wearing a
mask is when the participant is actively eating and drinking which will be limited to a specific time
frame. If a participant enters the friendship Café without a mask, a mask will be provided.

 If a participant refuses to wear a mask, they will be required to leave and cannot return to the
Friendship Café until they agree to wear a mask.

 Participants are required to use hand sanitizer and/or wash their hands prior to entering the
Friendship Café, before meal service and after meal service. Hand sanitizer will available at the site.

 Participants must maintain a social distance barrier of 6 feet away from each other at all times
including staff. This distancing will be strictly enforced.

 Participants who live together (i.e. spouses), may sit together and will not have to social distance at
the table.

 Participants are not allowed to throw away any trash from the tables, the employees will come to
each table and remove it.

 Self-Serve coffee service is suspended; employees will offer hot beverages to participants.

 Programming and activities at the Friendship Cafés currently are limited but we anticipate that to
change soon.

 Participants are not allowed in the kitchen for any reason. This is an employee-only area.

 Catholic Charities transportation is available but is very limited at this time.

 As a participant of the Friendship Café- Congregate Meal Program we ask that if you are
experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms such as temperature over 100.4, cough, shortness of breath
and/or difficulty breathing, we respectfully ask that you please stay home. If you arrive at the site
experiencing any of these symptoms you will not be allowed to enter the site.
