The SJCC has promoted its Assistant Sports & Wellness Director Guido Posso
The SJCC has promoted its Assistant Sports & Wellness Director Guido Posso to the role of Sports & Wellness Director! Says SJCC Executive Director Mark Weintraub, "For four years, Guido has been the bedrock of our Dr. Edwin & Judy Brown Fitness Center, where he has served not only as its director, but as a beloved exer...cise class instructor and personal trainer. Given his many successes--among them, expansion of our offerings to include Wellness programs led by medical professionals--we are confident he will excel as our new Director of Sports & Wellness." Congratulations, Guido!

Good cardiovascular health? Not for MY child!
What caring parent would say that? Not a one. Still, that's the de facto statement of moms and dads who don't get their kids moving. According to the US Department of Health, kids aged 6 - 17 need one hour of physical activity a day - most of it in the form of moderate-to-intense aerobic exercise. http://www.health.gov/paguidelines/federalresources.aspx
Adults (ages 18-64) need approximately half that to enjoy health benefits including a lower risk for:
- early death
- heart disease
- stroke
- colon and breast cancers
Seniors (ages 65 and up) should follow the same adult guidelines, but also seek to maintain or improve coordination and balance, especially if they're prone to falling.
Kids can build strong bones and emotional health - and adults can help to maintain theirs - if they exercise every day. Let the SJCC help! Enroll in one of our fitness programs today!
